The week started with gorgeous weather and calm seas and finished with medium winds out of the South East, all in all pretty ideal. The flat calm conditions the first few days lead to several encounters with pods of rolling migratory tarpon out front, exciting to say the least for the lucky anglers who witnessed it. Permit are starting to move back into the flats after their relative lack the previous weeks, when the majority of action was in deeper water. Several grand slams and one super slam this week as well. Things are really starting to heat up around here temperature-wise, and we are seeing green turtles mating and starting to come out and false lay on the beaches. One lost lady took an early morning detour through the lodge and staff quarters at Casa Blanca last week before finding her way back to the sea near the dock.
