Turkey week at Casa and Playa Blanca provided a mix of conditions but allowed for some electric fishing. The beginning of the week allowed the sun to shine with light Southeast winds then gradually turned North East and through in some rain at the end of the 6 days.
Casa Blanca welcomed back our old friends from Anglers Adventures hosted by Doug Shlink. The Anglers : Lee, Peter, Ted, Bob, Rick, Mike, Dave, Cory, Ryan, Mike, Jeff,Chris and newcomer Jaime headed into Ascension Bay to put a bend in the rod and put up points to win the Annual “Real Men” Tournament. The week began with alot of good Permit shots but the name of the game was the continuance of very good Snook fishing. The crew put u p major points releasing big bones as well. Newcomer Jaime took the early lead only to see his title of Reel Men stolen away by his father in law Chris on the last day. Ted boated a giant Snook the last day to walk away with the daily Calcutta that he then doubled at the poker table that night.
Playa Blanca played Thanksgiving host to Anglers Alex, Brian J., John M., and Liane and Bill. As the weather dictated the fishing stayed hot at the beginning of the week then dropped off with winds, rain and clouds. Alex came out of the gates early with a nice Permit on Sunday and the rest of the crew worked on releasing big bones. The Snook seemed to make an emergence in E Bay as well with most of the group coming tight on a linesider or two. Brian J a newcomer to Playa boated his 3rd career Permit on Fly!! It is always great to see the gang from the REEL MEN and the returning anglers at Playa. See you next Turkey Day!
