Difficult start weather-wise with a cold front out of the north passing through, midweek winds shifted out of the east and on to south-east, raising temps and fish activity levels progressively. Bone-fishing the northern fringes of Santa Rosa lagoon was impressive this week regardless of conditions, with consistently high numbers of quality fish brought to hand, several in the five pound range. Snook fishing was also on fire for fish of all sizes. Permit fishing was on the upswing as weather and visibility improved, with the last three days seeing and boating the most fish by far. A permit was caught off the pier on fly as well this week by angler Sue. B. 1 super grand slam by angler Wes B and guide Rafael.
