Casa and Playa Blanca Lodges Fishing Report January 7-14, 2017

A challenging weather week as we start up again with clients in the New Year. Even so we had fair fishing. With stout winds out of the North changing to straight East as the week wore on, combined with generalized precipitation throughout the week and only rare glimpses of glorious sun, anglers worked for the fish they caught, and all species caught for the week, including some notable snook and nicer bonefish. Permit still a bit shy compared to our average numbers but understandable with the conditions. We’re happy to report that WC client Don W back from the dead with his largest permit to date on fly, very cool to witness. Anglers at Casa Blanca fished off the dock at night with sardines and had some adventures with sharks and jacks that won’t soon be forgotten either.
