Casa and Playa Blanca Lodges Fishing Report November 12-19, 2016

A beautiful weather week overall with decent fishing conditions, especially the first half of the week: good visibility and manageable winds out of the North-North East. Fishing became a bit more challenging as temps dropped and winds picked up towards the second half of the week, but visibility remained ideal. Week of the full Super Moon and along with ultra bright nights, the tides were extreme, with Santa Rosa full to bursting. Likely as a result, tarpon fishing was less productive than average, with the majority of fish encountered not aggressive towards the fly. Permit fishing not on fire either, but was still a worthwhile pursuit: of the anglers that targeted permit, all worked hard for them and most were rewarded, including two first permit for Chelcie J and Libby A with guide David, a Super Slam for David W with guide Carlos, four consecutive daily permit for Jeff M and guide Jorge, and the big fish of the week going to the fishiest lady around, Susie M.
