Casa and Playa Blanca Lodges Fishing Report November 18-25 2017

There was much to be thankful for this week at Casa and Playa Blanca as both the weather and the fish cooperated. The week began with calm winds out of the northeast. By midweek we experienced a rare but welcome westerly wind, which the fish seemed to enjoy. Clouds remained few and far between for the entirety of the week.

Permit were abundant and happy throughout the bays. Anglers reported daily opportunities at large schools of sizable fish, as well as shots at single tailing fish. Permit also seemed unusually willing to eat. This afforded anglers the opportunity to catch good numbers of these elusive fish.

Great permit fishing conditions made it difficult for anglers to focus their attention on other species, but those who targeted bonefish, tarpon and snook were rewarded. Tarpon and snook were found in good numbers throughout the bays and there were ample bonefish in their usual lies.
