Weather cooperated for the guests at Casa and Playa Blanca this week. Visibility was solid with minimal cloud cover and winds were light to moderate out of the North and Northeast for most of the week. Despite favorable weather conditions, fishing for Permit was notably challenging. Anglers had a number of shots each day, but reported the fish to be as finicky as ever. A few anglers still managed to land permit. When taking a break from permit fishing, anglers kept their rods bent with ample opportunities at bonefish. Bonefish were plentiful and eager to eat anglers well presented flies. Guides were pleasantly surprised by the numbers of tarpon and snook seen and hooked both in the bays and in the backcountry lagoons. Several anglers brought large snook to the boat making for an exciting week.
