The week started beautifully with clear water, skies, and mild winds up until the last two days, when we got some heavy precipitation. Tarpon and snook fishing was strong in Ascension Bay, with eighty pound tarpon seen and jumped over a period of several days, and permit caught out of both bays. At Playa Blanca, our young guns are back! These kids were born with rods in their hands and are forces to be reckoned with. Nine-year old Braden D caught his first tarpon ever completely unassisted, Johnny, twelve this year, didn’t repeat his grand slam of last year, but caught a bunch of tarpon, snook and bones and cast to a bunch of permit, while 14 year old Alan D continued his lucky permit streak with a twenty pounder for the week. Very cool to see such young anglers excel. The adults caught a few permit too, 12 permit for the week.
