Casa and Playa Blanca Lodges Fishing Report October 7-14 2017

We had a significant improvement in angling conditions this past week at Punta Pajaros. Anglers experienced minimal cloud cover and light winds out of the SE for the first few days of fishing. By midweek, winds shifted but were still relatively light out of the NE.

Guests had solid permit fishing all week with daily shots at 6-10lb fish in large schools, and the occasional shot at large tailing fish. Bonefish were plentiful throughout the bays.

Tarpon and Snook fishing in the back of the Bay was spotty. The backcountry lagoons remain a bit high and off color due to recent rainy weather. Still, several anglers managed to bring tarpon and snook to hand with a handful of anglers completing a grand slam.
