The week of Sept. 23 -30 brought rather strong winds out of the SE and a bit of everything in the way of weather. Despite some relatively difficult conditions, there were still several permit, tarpon, bones and snook landed. Most of the landed permit ranged from 5 to 10lbs and were schooled up in various flats and lagoons.

With the recent rains, water in the backcountry lagoons was a bit high and off color. Still, guides were able to find fish and several anglers were able to land tarpon and snook. A few anglers were able to spend a day in Santa Rosa, but their fishing was considerably more difficult with high milky water.

Three anglers were able to get their first permit and happily ate their scorpions. An additional three anglers were able to complete a grand slam, making for an exciting week.
