It was another tough weather week for anglers at Casa and Playa Blanca. Strong winds out of the east/southeast prevailed to start the week with north/northeast winds coming later. Clouds and scattered rain showers were routine for the week.

Anglers still managed to land several permit before the formation of tropical storm Nate forced an early departure on Thursday. Similar to last week, anglers found good numbers of 6-12lb permit schooled up throughout the bay. A few larger, single tailing permit were found as well.

The backcountry lagoons and rivers received an influx of fresh water from last week’s rains that made finding snook and tarpon difficult at times. Still a handful of each were landed.
