Casa and Playa Blanca Lodges Fishing Report February 29 to March 7, 2020

Same story, different week. The wind just keeps changing directions on us every few days, making for unpredictable conditions daily.  We had a couple of decent weather windows this week, but for the most part the fishing was pretty tough. The crew at Casa Blanca spent most of the week bonefishing, catching several nice bones through the week. We took good advantage of our sunnier days by looking for permit and got a bunch of nice permit shots, mostly mid-week. Mark even got his first permit on Wednesday! The wind has laid off for now and we are really enjoying some calmer weather on Punta Pajaros! Let’s hope it stays this way for a while!

The group at Playa was from Trouthunter lodge in Island Park, ID. They worked hard to find permit most of the week and found a couple. Big Steve caught his first grand slam ever and Willy marked his first permit on Friday. Great fun with this crew!
