Casa and Playa Blanca Lodges Fishing Report May 25th, June 1, 2019.

Typical for this time of year, anglers endured moderately strong winds out of the east for most of the week. Clouds that brought light rain were in the mix a couple of days, but they didn’t stick around long enough to ruin the fishing.

Anglers focusing on permit in E bay found the schools to have lock jaw at times and reported several slow days. When the bite turned on they were able to take advantage and land a handful. Guides reported seeing and jumping some big migratory tarpon. A few nice snook were landed as well. There was no shortage of bonefish for those looking to put a bend in the rod.

At Casa anglers spent most of the week chasing permit and looking for big tarpon ocean side. John at Casa pulled off the Grand Slam on Tuesday with a 20lb permit. Joe found a nice 50-70lb tarpon and scored a nice permit on the same day. First time saltwater angler Clayton managed to land 6 bonefish in one day!
