Casa and Playa Blanca Lodges Fishing Report November 2 to 9, 2019

Casa Blanca had a great week of fishing with a mixed group of clientele from all across the United States. Weather conditions steadily improved from storms on the first day to mostly sunny and relatively calm, ending the week with excellent fishing conditions.  There were several fish  caught in the group throughout the week, with most of the permit being caught earlier in the week during the more windy weather.

Permit sightings happened daily, with a mixed bag of smaller fish in schools and bigger singles/ doubles cruising the flats. Mike caught a few permit early in the week and Jeff got a nice one later on. The Santa Rosa lagoon system offered daily snook and tarpon sightings and a couple of nice snook were boated during the week, despite fish being able to hide in the mangroves with the high water in Santa Rosa this time of year. The bonefishing was quite good this week. Almost all anglers took advantage of regular bonefish encounters during the week and kept their rods bent. We had a blast this week and hope to see everyone next year!

The second week of Mountain Angler at Playa was a couples trip and we had a great crew. The weather cooperated most of the week and we had winds below 15mph from the N/NE. Clients found snook in good numbers throughout the week. Permit were not abundant this week but managed to find a handful.

A few highlights from the week, Jackson landing a 50-70lb tarpon in the backcountry, Lou catching a nice big snook, Mac landing two permit in a day and Mike successfully getting a permit mid week!
