Thanksgiving week started out with two great days of light wind and sunshine followed by wind in the 15-20mph range for Wednesday through Friday. David took advantage of the conditions day one and managed a super grand slam. Permit were around in good numbers the first two days. Whitney managed to land 3 permit this week and had many other great opportunities. Neil and Chuck tried their luck in Santa Rosa on the windy days and found a few bonefish but with the high water in the lagoons tarpon and snook were hard to find.
The last week of November brought tough conditions for anglers at Casa Blanca. We welcomed familiar faces of long-time Casa Blanca clients Joe and Eugenio. We had good weather for the first few days of the week, but as the week progressed, winds increased and clouds moved in. The fishing was overall tough this week, with permit shots being few and tough. However, the bonefishing proved to be a day-saver through and through with several bones pushing the the 4-5lb range. Ascension Bay bonefish this year seem to be very nice fish, providing a reliably good fight for anglers even in variable conditions. We celebrated Thanksgiving with a turkey cooked in a traditional Mexican style and Mexican side-dishes. Happy Thanksgiving from Punta Pajaros!
