Casa and Playa Blanca Lodges Fishing Report October 26 to November 2, 2019

At Playa Blanca this week we welcomed back a long time group from Mountain Angler in Breckenridge, CO hosted by Jackson Streit. We had great fishing conditions throughout the week with lower than average winds and mostly sunny. All four species were caught throughout the week at Playa.

A few highlights from the week included a 30lb permit for Tom and a nice 25lb snook for Frank. On Wednesday the group had their annual Gene Burton bonefish tournament where Mike and Frank took the gold for the second year in a row. Most of the group spent time chasing all species and bonefish were around in good numbers this week. We look forward to fishing with this crew again next year!

Up at Casa, we had first time guests Melissa and Robert Jester.  Melissa and Robert enjoyed a relaxing week of fishing for all species with Pato, while having the lodge to themselves in the evenings. The bonefish were plentiful daily and Melissa and Robert had shots at tarpon, snook, and permit as well almost daily. Melissa even got experience catching a permit on the fly on day three! The highlight of the week was a beautiful 18lb snook caught in the back of Ascension Bay for Melissa. This was a great week to kick off the fall season in Ascension Bay and we really enjoyed having Melissa and “Jess”!
