The weather conditions this week were atypical of our normally more consistent weather in May. We saw a strong ESE wind with gust in the mid 20´s most of the week. This weather made fishing for certain species a bit more difficult.
At Casa Blanca we welcomed back some old faces and two new groups from the San Francisco Bay area. Murray who is fishes all over the world was here looking for permit and was able to get one despite the wicked wind. Steve from San Francisco managed to fool a nice tarpon in the back of Santa Rosa mid week. The bone fishing remained consistent and clients were able to find good numbers in the lagoons.
At Playa Blanca we hosted a group from Austin, TX. Although strong winds made things very difficult, Knox Kronenberg was able to complete his first super slam on day 2. Permit fishing for the rest of the group was as challenging as ever. Anglers found a break from the wind and hungry bonefish in Santa Rosa. A few tarpon and snook were landed both in the bay and in the backcountry lagoons.
