This week we started off with great weather, winds hovered around 10mph for the first three days of fishing providing opportunities to fish for all species. Wind picked up to finish the week but anglers were still afforded plenty of chances.
At Casa Blanca we had a few firsts, Johnny Shipley landed his first permit and his first tarpon on the fly. His brother Walker found his first snook on the fly. The week was capped off by Dave Jones catching a beautiful permit approaching 30lbs!
At Playa Blanca, we welcomed a group hosted by long-time client, Jackson Streit of Mountain Angler in Breckenridge, Colorado. The solid conditions early in the week allowed for Steve Meir, Rich Morgan and Doug Thornton to land their first permit. Anglers caught plenty of bonefish with a few tarpon and snook mixed in as well. Rob Keith and Mike Flores were able to finish the week on a high note by catching three nice permit on the final day.
